Bowling fans will have a new destination for their TV tournament coverage, starting in 2019. The PBA and FOX Sports recently announced a multi-year deal that will bring a schedule of televised Go Bowling! PBA Tour events to the FOX network and its FS1 channel next year.
In a March 20 press release, PBA CEO & Commissioner Tom Clark said, “The PBA has been searching for the best possible broadcast partner to serve our fans, players and the bowling industry, and we have determined that partner is FOX Sports.”
In addition, with this new partnership, bowling fans can look forward to nearly double the number of events televised and program hours aired in 2017 on ESPN.
The PBA joins a host of other professional sports currently broadcast by FOX Sports, including Major League Baseball, National League Football, Major League Soccer, United States Golf Association events and more. Broadcast television of bowling began in 1962 with ABC Television.
