Chris Barnes

When he joined the PBA in 1998, Chris was already an accomplished college and Olympic bowler with an impressive performance record.  As a senior at Wichita State University, he was named Collegiate Bowler of the Year by the Bowling Writers Association of America. While on Team USA, he received the US Olympic Committee Athlete of the Year Award for Bowling in 1994, 1996 and 1997, and was also a member of 2008’s Olympic Dream Team. Over the 2009-2010 season, Chris finished second in three of his four televised appearances: the USBC Masters, the Motor City Open, and Tournament of Champions. In fact, Chris has had an incredible 22 second-place finishes in his career.

Of Note: At the PBA World Championships on January 16th 2011, Barnes won the $50,000 prize. This newest title makes Barnes, winner of the 2005 US Open and the 2006 Tournament of Champions, one of only six bowlers in PBA history to win the triple crown of bowling. Barnes also finished second in the Dick Weber PBA Playoffs, fifth in Tournament of Champions, fourth in Chameleon Championship and seventh in the U.S. Open. Chris Barnes ranked second in earnings ($133,260) and sixth in average (219.35).

Personal: Chris lives in Texas with his wife, 12-time Team USA member and professional bowler Lynda Barnes and their twins, Ryan and Roy.
